New Delhi: Vande Bharat train, which has become the identity of comfort, speed and modern facilities, is now ready to serve the passengers in a new avatar. The country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train is going to run from Delhi, which will connect the capital with Kolkata. With the introduction of this new train, passengers traveling long distances are going to get great relief.

According to sources, Vande Bharat sleeper train on Delhi-Kolkata route can hit the tracks by the end of this month. With its operation, passengers from Delhi as well as four states – Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal – will get the option of fast and comfortable travel.

You can get a gift this month

This is being considered an important gift from the Central Government before the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal. According to the information, this train can be flagged off in the third week of January. Earlier it was expected to start in December 2025, but now there are indications that it will start already.

Special design for long distance

Vande Bharat Sleeper train has been specially designed keeping in mind the long distance passengers. Even if its speed is kept a little less than 180 km per hour in the initial phase, but due to modern facilities and better comfort, the travel experience of the passengers is going to be much better.

Travelers from four states will benefit

This train running between Delhi and Kolkata will directly benefit the passengers of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. There is no official confirmation yet regarding its stoppage in UP and Bihar, but there is a possibility of stoppage at major stations like Kanpur, Prayagraj, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and Patna.

There is already a huge crowd of passengers on this route and most of the trains have long waiting lists. In such a situation, Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is expected to get tremendous response from the passengers.

Successful trial conducted at speed of 180 km per hour

Recently, the last phase high-speed trial of Vande Bharat sleeper train made with indigenous technology was conducted on Kota-Nagda section. During this time the train achieved a speed of 180 km per hour. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared a video on social media platform ‘X’ on December 30, in which glasses filled with water appeared stable even during high speed and not even a single drop spilled.
