Esha Deol’s emotional New Year post for Dharmendra wins hearts; Bobby Deol reacts

New Delhi: Esha Deol rang in the New Year 2026 in Dubai’s dazzling lights, but her heart was elsewhere—gazing at the moon with a poignant tribute to her late father, Bollywood legend Dharmendra.

Amid Burj Khalifa’s glow, she whispered, “Love you, papa,” stirring emotions across fans and family. Half-brother Bobby Deol responded with red hearts, as Dharmendra’s final film Scream hits screens today, marking another tearful milestone for the Deols.

Emotional New Year post

Esha Deol shared pictures on Instagram Wednesday night from her Dubai celebrations. In one striking image, she stands in a black-and-gold outfit and black jacket, pointing at the moon against the glittering skyline with Burj Khalifa shining bright. She captioned it simply, “Love you, papa.”

Bobby Deol, her half-brother, reacted quickly with red heart emojis, showing family bonds remain strong. Esha’s post blended festive joy with quiet grief, touching many followers who commented on the heartfelt moment.

Dharmendra’s recent passing

Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at age 89 due to age-related illness at his Mumbai home. He left behind wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and six children, including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Esha Deol.

The family held a prayer meet attended by stars like Salman Khan, while Hema Malini and her daughters organised a separate one at home. His last rites took place at Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai.

Ikkis release today

Dharmendra’s final film, Scream, Releases in theatres on January 1, 2026. Directed by sriram raghavan, it stars agastya nanda as the second lieutenant araun khetarpal, India’s youngest paraam vir chakra hero, with his father, brigadier madan lal khetarpal.

Other cast includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, and Rahul Dev. A special Mumbai screening on December 30 drew Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Anil Sharma, and Mukesh Chhabra, who praised Dharmendra’s emotional performance.

This release adds depth to the Deol family’s New Year, blending loss with legacy as fans honour the “He-Man” of Bollywood.
