Minor missing after Christmas program

According to the information received, on December 25, the minor’s mother had lodged a complaint at Pratappur police station. It was told in the complaint that at around 5 pm on December 24, all four of her children went to a person’s house. Christmas program Had gone to celebrate. The program continued till late night, after which all the children stayed there. When the mother came to see her daughter at around 3 o’clock in the night, the pastor’s wife Sunita stopped her, saying that she herself was going to see the child. After this, the minor did not return home till morning, due to which the family members became worried and they started searching for her.

Suspicious call came in the morning, mother got suspicious

On December 25, at around 9 am, the minor’s mother received a call from Rajesh Kumar Vishwakarma. In the call, Rajesh talked about taking the girl home with him and keeping her. This deepened the mother’s suspicion. The mother told the police that Rajesh had seduced her minor daughter and taken her with him and along with Rajkumari, Pastor Ramkhelavan and his wife Sunita also played an active role in this entire act. It was also revealed in the complaint that the accused Rajesh Kumar had been involved in cases of luring girls in the past also. A case is already registered against him in Rajpur police station.

Kidnapping case registered, minor recovered

On the basis of the complaint, Pratappur police registered a case of kidnapping. The investigation was started on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Surajpur Prashant Thakur and under the leadership of station in-charge Amit Kaushik. During the investigation, the police recovered the minor from Dhandhapur village of Rajpur police station area and sent him to Sakhi Center in Ambikapur for security reasons.

Conversion started in the name of getting rid of drug addiction

The victim’s mother told the police that her family had earlier converted, but later returned to their original religion due to social pressure. The head of the family was addicted to alcohol. A few years ago, Pastor Ramkhelavan came to his house and invited him to pray in the name of getting rid of alcoholism. After the husband gave up alcohol, the family’s faith in the pastor increased and they converted to Christianity. However, when the husband started drinking alcohol again, the family returned to their original religion.

Pastor was active for 15 years

Police investigation has revealed that Ramkhelavan, a pastor, was active in Pratappur and surrounding areas for the last 15 years. He used to convert innocent villagers by giving them inducements like giving up alcohol, curing diseases and getting rid of problems. He has also inspired his relatives and acquaintances to convert. Villagers say that this is the first time that he has come under the grip of law.
