Chris Lynn created a sensation with a direct hit, ended Matt Renshaw’s innings with this tremendous throw.
Chris Lynn Direct Hit: Australia’s experienced batsman Chris Lynn, playing for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League (BBL), presented a spectacular fielding display against his former team Brisbane Heat. His direct hit runout during the powerplay put the already struggling Brisbane Heat under further pressure and the team could not recover from the initial shock.
On Wednesday (December 31), in the 17th match of the Big Bash League 2025-26, Chris Lynn caught everyone’s attention with a surprising runout at the Adelaide Oval. Liam Scott was bowling the last over of the powerplay during the innings of Brisbane Heat, who were batting first. On the third ball of the over, Max Bryant opened the face of the bat with soft hands and played the ball towards point, which looked like an easy single. Then Chris Lynn, who was fielding at point, from where he could see only one stump, made a brilliant dive and bowled an accurate throw with one hand. Matt Renshaw, who was running for runs from the non-striker’s end, was left out of the crease and was forced to return to the pavilion on 6 runs.
After this runout, Brisbane’s innings completely faltered. The tight bowling of Jamie Overton and Liam Scott further increased the pressure. Brisbane Heat could not recover after losing 5 wickets for 21 runs and the entire team was reduced to just 121 runs in 19.4 overs. Overton took 3 wickets in this innings, while Liam Scott and Hasan Ali got 2-2 wickets.
For Brisbane, Matthew Kuhneman scored unbeaten 31 runs, while Hugh Wiebgen added 28 runs. Apart from these, no other batsman could play a big innings.
