News India Live, Digital Desk: The year has changed, a new page of the calendar is in front and the first morning of the year 2026 is in front of us. Like every year, last night too the sky was filled with fireworks at exactly 12 o’clock, but this time there was something new in the celebration. From the cold winds of Delhi to the sea fun of Mumbai, every corner of the country is drenched in happiness.

Warmth amid cold in Delhi and Lucknow

It is quite cold these days in North India, especially Delhi and Lucknow. Amidst the fog and dew, last night a gathering of people was visible at Delhi’s Connaught Place and India Gate. Even though it was chilly, people came out of their homes wearing their mufflers and jackets to feel the first breeze of the New Year. Hazratganj of Lucknow also remained lively till late night. People started 2026 with Kulhar tea and chaat.

Mumbai and Patna’s own style

Talking about Mumbai, the ‘Marine Drive’ there was packed last night. Bollywood music and the sound of waves welcomed 2026 on the never-sleeping streets of Mumbai. Whereas, if we talk about Patna and other parts of Bihar, the style of celebration here was a bit simple and cute. When people reached the banks of Ganga in Patna early in the morning to take bath, many people bowed their heads at the Hanuman temple and prayed for a good start to their new year.

New Year’s resolutions and changing lifestyle

We all saw that this beginning of 2026 was not just a noisy one. Many people spent last night in ‘relaxation mode’ rather than ‘party mode’. Someone was sitting near the bonfire on his terrace, while someone was talking to his childhood friends on call. Often we search for big happiness, but the first morning of the year 2026 reminds us that it is the small happiness that really matters the most.

If you got up a little late from bed today and are checking your phone, then remember that this is not the year to just change the date, but to do something good for yourself.
