Big step after Operation Sindoor, India-Pak handed over information about nuclear sites
New Delhi . After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2025, the Indian government had destroyed the hideouts of terrorists present in Pakistan. It was named ‘Operation Sindoor’. After these incidents, an atmosphere of tension was created between the two countries. Meanwhile, India and Pakistan have shared the list of nuclear sites with each other.
List exchanged between the two countries 35 times
India and Pakistan shared the list of their respective nuclear bases and institutions on Thursday (January 1). This list has been exchanged between the two countries under the agreement related to the prohibition of attacks on nuclear bases and institutions. The Ministry of External Affairs has given important information by issuing a press release. The list of nuclear sites has been exchanged between the two countries 35 times so far. It was started on 1 January 1992.
Lists are exchanged under this agreement
The Agreement on the Prohibition of Attack against Nuclear Installations and Facilities between India and Pakistan was signed on 31 December 1988. This agreement came into effect from 27 January 1991. Under this agreement, provisions were made that both the countries will not try to damage, destroy or provoke nuclear sites by taking any such action. The agreement covers nuclear power plants, research reactors, uranium enrichment centres, fuel manufacturing units and storage points for radioactive materials.
