The Chief Minister was asked a question regarding a BJP video viral on social media and the word ‘Paijaan’ used in it, which was being directly linked to Gaurav Gogoi. On this, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he is not aware of such things going on on social media. However, he said in clear words that "Gaurav Gogoi and his family definitely have connections with Pakistan."
Allegations of links with ISI have been made earlier also
Himanta Biswa Sarma reiterated that he had earlier also accused Gaurav Gogoi and his wife Elizabeth Colburn of alleged links with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
After these allegations, the state government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). According to the Chief Minister, this team had submitted its report to him in September last year.

The Chief Minister claimed that the investigating agency has found such facts which directly raise serious questions related to the sovereignty and national security of the country.
