Contaminated water is becoming a problem in Bhagirathpura, 338 people fall ill, 32 admitted in ICU.

The disease of vomiting and diarrhea spreading due to contaminated water is becoming increasingly serious. The situation has become more worrying after 338 new patients appeared on Thursday. Long queues of patients were seen in health centers and hospitals from morning till late night.
The situation is that children, women and elderly people, no one is untouched by this disease. In many houses, one by one, all the members have fallen ill. So far, about 2800 patients have come forward, making it clear that this is not just a common disease but has become a major health crisis.
32 patients in ICU, increasing pressure on hospitals
The condition of patients suffering from vomiting and diarrhea in Bhagirathpura is fluctuating. Till Thursday, 32 patients had to be admitted to ICU in critical condition. According to the Health Department, a total of 201 patients are currently admitted in different hospitals. Many of these patients have been kept under constant observation. So far, 272 patients have been admitted to the hospital, out of which 71 have been discharged after treatment. However, doctors say that the danger is still not over. New patients may continue to emerge until the source of contaminated water is completely closed and made safe.
Treatment in health centers day and night, teams are tired
The situation in the health center located in Bhagirathpura remains very challenging. Patients are coming for treatment from morning till late night. Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are working non-stop. Due to ever increasing crowd, many times patients have to wait for hours. The health department has formed 21 special teams to handle the situation. These teams include doctors, paramedical staff, ANM and Asha workers. These teams are going door-to-door, examining people and giving necessary medicines.
Survey of 1714 houses, investigation of 8571 people
Considering the seriousness of the disease, a comprehensive survey campaign was conducted on Thursday. A total of 1714 houses were surveyed, in which health check-up of 8571 people was done. In this investigation, 338 new patients were found, who were given first aid on the spot. The Health Department says that the purpose of the survey is to catch the disease at an early stage, so that the situation does not worsen further. People who have mild symptoms have been given medicines and precautions at home.
Contaminated water became the biggest reason, anger among people
The biggest reason for this disease spreading in Bhagirathpura is considered to be contaminated water. Residents of the area allege that dirty and smelly water was being supplied for a long time, but the complaints were not given timely attention. Many people say that complaints had been made earlier also regarding the quality of water, but no concrete action was taken then. Now when the situation has become so bad and life is at risk, the administration has come into action. For this reason, there is a lot of anger among the residents.
