A teacher in eastern China has gone viral after turning a routine classroom punishment into a joyful dance moment that millions online could not stop watching.

When several 15-year-old boys arrived late for class in Dezhou, Shandong Province, their teacher, surnamed Feng, skipped the usual scolding.

Instead, she invited them onto the podium and asked them to dance to a popular 2009 pop song called “Mistake,” transforming embarrassment into playful accountability, The Star reported.

The clip quickly spread across Chinese social media, with viewers jokingly dubbing the students a “wrongdoers boy band.”

Many praised the boys’ confidence and charm, while others applauded the teacher’s creativity and warmth. One parent said her family “laughed to tears” after hearing about the incident and promised to wake her son earlier to avoid being late again, the South China Morning Post reported.

Encouraged by the response, Feng later posted a follow-up video showing the boys dancing with more polished moves. She wrote that what began as punishment had turned into a kind of reward.

When commenters said they hoped their children would have a teacher like her, Feng replied that happiness and learning do not conflict, and that relaxed classrooms help students grow.
