Rituraj is close to creating history in Vijay Hazare, will Manish Pandey’s record be broken?
Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) Four rounds of matches have been played in the 2025-26 season. The fifth round of matches will be held on Saturday (January 3). Maharashtra captain Rituraj Gaikwad, who is in good form, can make a big record in his name on this day. He is very close to breaking Manish Pandey’s all-time record. Actually, Manish Pandey holds the record of hitting the most number of sixes in the history of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Rituraj needs only 4 sixes to leave him behind.
Rituraj played only 54 innings
Karnataka’s right-handed experienced batsman Manish Pandey has hit 108 sixes in 99 innings in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Whereas Rituraj has reached 105 sixes in just 54 innings. That means he has played almost half the innings than Manish.
Ruturaj has scored 191 runs in 4 matches in the current season. During this period, 5 sixes have come from his bat. His best score is 124, which he made in the last match. Maharashtra team is going to face Mumbai in its next match. Rituraj would like to get ahead of Manish Pandey in this match itself. This is because he is certain to be selected for the ODI series against New Zealand starting from January 11. In such a situation, he may miss the upcoming matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
