To make the journey to Lucknow easier, there is a possibility of making Bareilly-Sitapur National Highway six-lane. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) may soon float a tender to select a consultant agency for preparing the project report (DPR).

Almost three years have passed since the four lane was built

In the divisional meeting on Tuesday, the Divisional Commissioner took information in this regard from NHAI officers. In this case, we will send a letter to the authority’s headquarters in Delhi. Almost three years have passed since the 156 kilometer stretch from Bareilly to Sitapur was made four lane. Some work is still going on in some areas.

Traffic of 35 to 40 thousand vehicles

In the district, this route starts from Rajau Paraspur near Invertis University and goes to Sitapur. This route will pass through Bareilly along with Shahjahanpur, Hardoi and Sitapur. There will be a significant increase in the number of vehicles on the route last year. There will be movement of 35 to 40 thousand vehicles on this route in a day.

Efforts will be made to build six lanes

Due to road safety, this route now needs to be made six lanes to increase the convenience of the passengers. Due to this, efforts will now be made to make the Bareilly-Sitapur road six lanes. In a meeting at the Divisional Commissioner’s office on Tuesday, Commissioner Bhupendra S. Chaudhary talked to NHAI officials in this regard. He asked about the load on the road and stressed the need for widening. NHAI officials informed that the decision on road widening will be taken at the headquarters level. First of all the entire route will be surveyed. After this the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared. This work will be done only by registered consultant companies.
