Famous Sri Lankan journalist Jamila Hussain praised Jaishankar on social media and described him as a leader who stood by his loved ones even when they left him. He reminded that even during the economic crisis of 2022, Jaishankar had personally felt the problems of the common people by coming down to the ground. Sri Lankan citizens are impressed by the fact that Indian leaders are helping them more than their own leaders.

India in the role of first responder

Jaishankar clarified that during Cyclone Ditvah, India acted as its ‘first responder’ Fulfilling the responsibility, relief material was immediately delivered. Indian aircraft carriers INS Vikrant and INS Udayagiri not only delivered supplies, but Air Force helicopters were also engaged in rescue operations. The 80-member NDRF team also played an important role in saving thousands of lives by conducting relief operations on Sri Lankan soil.
