To stop the theft of privacy, how to stop the cleverness of the smartphone through which it comes to know everything? – ..

News India Live, Digital Desk: Whatever conversation you have, apps try to turn it into ‘search preferences’. In fact, many times we knowingly or unknowingly give microphone permission to apps. These apps run in the background and capture keywords from our conversations. For this reason you have to face the onslaught of advertisements of your choice.

How to stop this ‘digital espionage’?

The way to save privacy is hidden in the settings of your phone itself. All you need to do is take a few steps:

  1. Google’s Accounts settings: Go to ‘Settings’ of your phone and click on ‘Google’. Here in ‘Manage your Google Account’ find the ‘Data & Privacy’ section. There is an option in this ‘Personalized Ads’ or ‘Ad Settings’. Switch it off. This prevents Google from profiling you based on personal information.
  2. Eliminate microphone arbitrariness: Many apps don’t need the mic (like a wallpaper app or calculator), but they still leave it on. Go to your phone’s ‘Privacy’ or ‘Apps’ settings and see ‘Permission Manager’ to see which apps are using your mic. Set ‘Deny’ or ‘Don’t Allow’ for unnecessary apps.
  3. Restrictions on voice assistance: If you don’t use ‘Hey Google’ or ‘Hey Siri’ very much, it’s better to turn off their ‘Listen’ feature. When the phone is always ready to listen when you call it, it has a direct impact on your battery and it constantly tracks your voice.

The battery will also benefit
When you turn off these background settings and permissions, your phone stops the internal processing. This simply means longer battery backup and less heating of the phone.

A little advice from me:
Use technology for yourself, don’t leave yourself ‘open’ to it. Sometimes after updating apps they ask for these permissions again, so it is a good habit to check your privacy settings once every month. Your personal information should remain only between you and your friend, and not with any marketing server.
