Chamoli (Uttarakhand): A big and scary news is coming out from Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. A sudden fire broke out in an army camp located on Auli Road in Joshimath on Friday afternoon. At the time when this accident occurred, more than 100 soldiers were present inside the camp. The fire spread so fast that many stores kept there were completely burnt to ashes. Black plumes of smoke can be seen far and wide in the sky.

Spark suddenly erupted at 2 pm

The incident started around 2 pm on Friday afternoon. It is being told that a small spark had arisen in the store part of the camp, which took a huge form within no time. Due to the hilly terrain and strong winds, the fire engulfed the goods, essential equipment and other materials kept in the store within minutes. The goods kept in the army store added fuel to the fire, due to which the flames started rising even higher.

Difficult path and challenge of extinguishing fire

As soon as the fire broke out, the army immediately informed the local fire department. However, due to the hilly and inaccessible terrain, there was some delay in the fire brigade vehicles reaching the spot. Meanwhile, the brave soldiers of the army themselves took charge. The soldiers present in the camp were trying to control the fire with the help of available resources, water tankers and manual equipment.

Heavy loss of property, investigation ordered

It is a matter of relief that till now there has been no news of any casualty or loss of life or property in this entire incident. All the soldiers are said to be safe. A senior military officer said that efforts are on to bring the situation completely under control. However, he also admitted that there was huge damage to army property in this arson.
