According to the report of South China Morning Post, this man’s cheeks have become unusually prominent due to his work in making glass. People who work with him lovingly call him Big Mouth Brother. The job of this 48-year-old man with a balloon-like face was to fill air into the molds through pipes in the glass factory. Due to continuous blowing of air through the mouth, the muscles of the cheeks got damaged and his face became like this. The cheeks of this artisan swell like a balloon when a little air is filled with it.

According to a report, this person named Zhang works in a glass factory in Zhongshan, Guangdong province of southern China. She is in the news because of such changes on her face. He has been doing this work for the last 30 years. In the viral video, Zhang is seen using a 1.5 meter long metal pipe. He lifts a lump of molten glass heated to a temperature of more than 1000 degrees Celsius and blows air through a pipe to expand the lump and give it the right shape. It is so hot in the workshop that Zhang often works without a shirt.

Zhang told that when he started this work many years ago, his face was completely normal. Due to repeated filling of air, the muscles of his face got stretched and gradually his cheeks became loose and became like balloons. The art of glass blowing is a thousands-year-old craft in China. According to The Paper report, while a person can make six cups in a minute by blowing, the machine can make 45 cups. However, in terms of quality the products made by people are lighter and better. Even today, 35,000 artisans work in this method in Qixian County, Shaanxi Province in northern China.
