GRAP-3 restrictions lifted in Delhi-NCR, but certain restrictions will remain in place.
New Delhi. GRAP-3 restrictions have been lifted in Delhi-NCR on the second day of the New Year. This decision has been taken due to improvement in air quality. According to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), AQI was recorded at 236 in Delhi this evening which was 380 a day earlier. Due to the decrease recorded in AQI as compared to earlier, the restrictions of GRAP-3 have been removed, however the restrictions of GRAP-1 and GRAP-2 will continue. If deterioration in air quality is recorded again, strict action can be taken again. Earlier, GRAP-4 ban was also implemented in Delhi-NCR.

The ban on construction and demolition activities in Delhi NCR has ended. Besides, the ban on mining and stone crushing crusher units has also been lifted. The ban on use of diesel generators has also been lifted. BS-3 petrol and BS-4 diesel four-wheelers will also now be able to run. Apart from this, the requirement of sprinkling additional water on the roads has also been done away with.

However, there will still be a complete ban on burning of garbage and the ban on burning of coal and wood in hotels and restaurants will also continue. The ban on trucks coming from outside states within the limits of Delhi NCR will also continue, although trucks supplying essential commodities will remain exempted as before. The administration has appealed to the people to follow the rules of pollution control. Let us tell you that Grap restrictions are implemented according to the increasing level of air pollution. AQI from 201 to 300 comes in Grap-1 while AQI from 301 to 400 comes in Grap-2. Similarly, Grap-3 is implemented when AQI ranges from 401 to 450 and when AQI exceeds 450, Grap-4 restrictions are imposed.
