Mumbai:The voting dates for the municipal elections in Maharashtra are still far away, but even before that the political picture seems to be clear to a great extent. The ruling grand alliance Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) have already gained a big lead in many municipal corporations before voting. Due to the withdrawal of a large number of opposition and independent candidates during the withdrawal of nominations, many candidates of Mahayuti have been declared elected unopposed. After the announcement of victory, BJP and Shinde Sena workers celebrated by blowing gulal and bursting fireworks outside the office.

BJP has psychological edge in Bhiwandi

Even in the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation elections, BJP has made a strong position even before the voting. So far four candidates of the party have been elected unopposed here. The withdrawal of opposition candidates in different wards cleared the way for BJP candidates. Excited by this success, the workers celebrated the victory with drums. The party is considering such a huge lead before the elections as a strategic victory.

BJP’s ‘Chauka’ in Dhule

BJP has won unopposed in the Dhule Municipal Corporation elections. Here four candidates have been declared victorious without any contest. Minister Jaykumar Rawal claimed that opposition candidates themselves are contacting to withdraw and this figure may increase further in the coming days. This victory has greatly boosted the morale of the local party leaders.

Beginning of victory in Pune and Ahilyanagar also

BJP has registered its first unopposed victory in Pune Municipal Corporation. Due to withdrawal of candidates in one ward, BJP candidate became victorious without voting. BJP got its first success in Ahilyanagar also, where the party’s female candidate was elected unopposed. These victories have indicated that Mahayuti’s hold is becoming stronger in urban areas.

Emotional scene in Jalgaon

However, amidst the celebrations, some emotional and human moments were also seen. In Jalgaon, an independent candidate and his family shed emotional tears while withdrawing their nomination. It was told that after assurance from the party leaders, he withdrew the nomination. This scene also highlighted political pressure and emotional aspect.
