‘I will drag you to court…’, Javed Akhtar furious over AI deepfake video
New Delhi: A video in the name of veteran writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar is going viral on social media, in which he is seen wearing a cap and it is being claimed that he has accepted God. However, Akhtar clarified on X that this is a fake video made by AI and has no connection with reality. He said that he will take legal action against those responsible for this fake video.
Javed Akhtar’s statement
Akhtar wrote in the tweet that a fake video is being circulated, in which my computer-generated fake picture is there and I have a cap on my head. Not only this, it is being claimed that I have finally accepted God. This is nonsense. He further said that I am seriously thinking of reporting this matter to the cyber police and ultimately I will drag the person responsible for this fake news and some people who forwarded it to court for damaging my reputation and credibility.
A fake video is in circulation showing my fake computer generated picture with a topi on my head claiming that ultimately I have turned to God. It is rubbish. I am seriously considering to report this to the cyber police and ultimately dragged the person responsible for this…

Netizens expressed support
Social media users also reacted to Akhtar’s tweet. A netizen wrote, Sir, does one become religious just by wearing a cap with respect? Yes, but many people have definitely become God by making others wear caps. Another user jokingly said that the irony is that the person who made this video needs God more than you right now, especially to find a way to pay his upcoming legal fees.
