Disney has released a teaser trailer for The Muppet Showa new special that features the return of the beloved franchise to television.
“It’s The Muppet Show! Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the beloved Muppet gang are back with a brand-new special event,” the official logline reads. “Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos is bound to ensue when The Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!”

What happens in The Muppet Show Teaser Trailer?
“It’s the return of The Muppet Show back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again, depending on how the night goes,” Kermit says in the teaser trailer.
The Muppet Show teaser trailer features Grammy-winning pop star Sabrina Carpenter and Emmy winner Seth Rogen. Carpenter is seen interacting with Miss Piggy, while Rogen converses with Fonzie.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” Rogen says, to which Fonzie replies, “Ooh, got any other dreams?”
The Muppet Show revival hails from 20th Television, Disney Branded Television, The Muppets Studio, and Point Grey Pictures. Alex Timbers directs the special. Executive producers include Rogen, Carpenter, Timbers, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee, David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, Michael Steinbach, Albertina Rizzo, Matt Vogel, and Eric Jacobson.
As highlighted in the teaser, The Muppet Show revival could lead to a new television series if successful. The return of the Muppets coincides with the show’s 50th anniversary later in 2026.
Created by Jim Henson, The Muppets Show ran for five seasons from 1976 to 1981. All five seasons can be streamed on Disney+.
The Muppet Show special will air February 4, 2026, on ABC and Disney+.
