Will the cricket boards of India and England not support the Saudi T20 League? Gujarati
BCCI has joined hands with ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and the matters are related to Saudi T20 League, in which investment of more than Rs 3,000 crore is expected. Now the news is that the cricket boards of India and England will not support the Saudi T20 league.
According to British newspaper The Guardian, BCCI and ECB have agreed to oppose the Saudi T20 League after a meeting held during the World Test Championship final match played at Lord’s. There has been an agreement between the cricket boards of both the countries that they will not give NOC (No Objection Certificate) to their players to play in this new league. Along with this, both the boards have also been pressurized not to support the Saudi T20 League.
According to the same report, Cricket Australia (CA) is focusing on earning profits in collaboration with Saudi investors. CA’s support may not have much impact on the Saudi T20 League as the brand value of IPL is more than US$12 billion, while the ECB is also set to make a bumper profit of around US$700 million after selling 49 per cent of the teams in ‘The Hundred League’.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is also running in profit, due to which IPL teams got franchise ownership 3 years ago. CSA is said to make a profit of approximately US$136 million from this deal. If reports are to be believed, investors from Saudi Arabia have invested around Rs. Going to invest Rs 3,442 crore.
