Collision between bus and motorcycle in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, 3 youth died
Bhubaneswar 02 January 2026: Three youths died on the spot in a tragic road accident on Friday in Rairangpur Town Police Station area of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
Three youths died on the spot in a tragic road accident that took place on National Highway-220 at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. There was a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle on Friday. While trying to overtake the truck, the youth riding the motorcycle lost control and collided with the bus coming from the front.
This accident took place near Rani Dam on National Highway-220, where a bus and a motorcycle collided head-on.
According to reports, a bus was going from Rairangpur to Jashipur. Three youths riding a motorcycle were trying to overtake a truck coming fast from the opposite direction. While trying to overtake, the bike driver lost control and collided head-on with the bus coming from the opposite direction. The collision was so strong that all three youths fell on the road.
All three, including the motorcyclist, were trapped under the bus and crushed to death, due to which they died on the spot. There was chaos at the accident site.
On receiving the information, Rairangpur Town Police immediately reached the spot, took custody of the dead bodies and sent them for postmortem. Till the time of writing this, the deceased has not been identified. Police have registered a case and started investigation into the cause of the accident.
