Monsoon Alert – Deteriorating weather conditions have created difficulties for citizens. Intense cold and dense fog in North India are causing problems for commuters. Punjab and Haryana are experiencing a severe cold wave with bone-chilling temperatures. The falling temperatures and dense fog are also making driving hazardous.

Children and the elderly are forced to spend their time huddled around bonfires. Delhi-NCR has also witnessed record-breaking cold, causing considerable distress to everyone. The cold has also intensified in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Some parts of Tamil Nadu received rainfall, making the weather pleasant. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), warnings for rain and cold waves have been issued for several states.

Fog in Delhi

According to the IMD, the cold spell in the national capital, Delhi, may intensify further. Dense fog is expected in the city on January 3, 2026, for which a yellow alert has been issued. Dense fog is also likely to be observed during the morning and night hours. This is likely to affect traffic once again.

Uttarakhand Weather

Uttarakhand has witnessed record-breaking cold. The bone-chilling cold spell continues. The IMD has also issued a warning for snowfall along with dense fog in the state.

Madhya Pradesh Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, the new year began with mild cold and fog. Five districts of the state are experiencing cloudy conditions. Dense fog prevails in five districts. Light fog in some areas has not significantly affected visibility. According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of fog may be seen in several districts, including Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, and Datia, from January 3 to 5.

Rain in these states

The IMD has issued a warning for rain in some parts of Tamil Nadu. Heavy rainfall alerts have also been issued for Kerala, Puducherry, and Telangana. Light rain is also possible in some parts of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. People have been advised to take precautions.
