Strong opposition from BJP
BJP has called this statement against democracy and the Constitution. Party’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala called it a threat to the constitutional system. He said that opposition leaders are showing anti-India thinking in the name of criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Poonawala alleged in a video message that such statements are an insult to Dr. Ambedkar’s Constitution and weaken democratic values.
Apart from this, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari posted this statement on social media and called it a part of anti-India narrative. He claimed that even big opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi are promoting such things which challenge the political stability of the country.
Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishna Bedi also raised questions on Chautala’s statement. Referring to the political history of the Chautala family, he said that such statements are against democratic principles and question their credibility.
