With advance bookings open to selected theatres across Kerala and Karnataka, the film has collected around Rs 3 crore so far in India, with a rapid rise expected once sales open to Tamil Nadu and other regions of India.
In the overseas markets, Jana Awell has posted phenomenal numbers, gaining Rs 11-12 crore in opening-day pre-sales, largely driven by North America, the United Kingdom and Australia. Markets expect the advance business to cross Rs 50 crore worldwide once bookings open across all regions, with the buzz further strengthened as Vijay has billed it as his final film before he becomes a full-time politician.
