During the investigation, a large number of suspicious documents, digital data from mobile phones, CCTV DVR and diaries were recovered. Evidence of illegal extortion through hotels, dhabas and private establishments has also been found.
According to ACB, after getting entry from the drivers through systems like mobile messaging, digital payment and call centre, the vehicle numbers were sent to the concerned RTO team. So that bribe transactions can happen easily.
In this action, a total of 13 people including the transport inspector, his personal assistant, broker and dhaba operators have been detained for further action. During the investigation, Rs 1.16 lakh cash, 19 mobile phones, 4 CCTV DVRs and 12 suspicious diaries were seized. In which accounts of transactions worth lakhs of rupees are recorded.
