Tech market hit by inflation, smartphone prices rise again

If you are planning to buy a new smartphone, then this news is important for you. According to the latest information related to the mobile market, in the coming time, customers may have to spend more money to buy a phone. The special thing is that this time not only the prices of premium or mid-range phones but also the prices of cheap and budget smartphones have seen an increase.

According to experts associated with the mobile industry, many big companies have increased the prices of their entry level and budget segment smartphones. The prices of some models have been increased directly, while some phones are being sold without the earlier discount. This is having a direct impact on those customers who were thinking of buying a new phone in a low budget.

Many reasons are being given for the increase in prices. The biggest reason is the increasing cost of raw materials and components. Essential parts like chipset, display, battery and camera module have become costlier than before. Apart from this, logistics and manufacturing costs have also increased, the burden of which is ultimately being passed on to the customers.

Industry experts say rupee fluctuations and import-related expenses are also affecting prices. Since many important parts of smartphones are imported from abroad, the position of the rupee against the dollar has a direct impact on the cost of the phone.

Interestingly, the prices of smartphones which were earlier considered “budget phones” now seem to be gradually moving towards the mid-range segment. Phones which were available for 8 to 10 thousand rupees have now reached the price of 12 thousand rupees or more. This may increase the difficulties of first-time smartphone purchasing customers and users in rural areas.

However, with the increase in prices, companies are also claiming that they are offering better features. Features like more RAM, storage, larger display and better camera are now available in budget phones also. Despite this, the effect of inflation is clearly visible on the pockets of the common consumer.

According to experts, there is little hope of any major relief in prices in the coming months. Offers and bank discounts can definitely provide some relief during festivals, but overall smartphones are no longer as cheap as before.
