design

The design of the Kia EV2 reveals at first sight that it is a modern electric SUV. Its boxy profile seems inspired from Kia’s other EVs such as EV3 and EV5. The quirky LED DRLs in front, vertically stacked headlamps and rugged bumper give it a tough look, while the closed-off grille EV shows cleanness.

Side profile includes squared wheel arches, all-around cladding, flush door handles and sporty alloy wheels giving it urban SUV feel. Dual-tone ORVMs with blacked-out A and B pillars make the design more fresh.

Rear design is also quite balanced. Shark fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, flat boot lid and distinctive tail lamps give it clean but confident look. Overall, Kia EV2 seems to be an SUV that can be used comfortably daily from office commute to weekend family trips.

interior

Let me tell you that Kia EV2 looks compact from outside is quite practical from inside. It gets both 4-seat and 5-seat options, making it different in this segment. Its Seats are designed in such a way that the passenger remains a balance between the comfort and the luggage space.

The 4-seat variant gets a storage space of up to 403 liters when rear seats fold. In addition, a 15-litre frunk is also provided, in which small items can be easily placed.

Talking about Dashboard, triple-screen layout is given in Kia EV2. This includes digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen and separate climate display. This system is the cost-effective version of the CCNC system used in large cars of Kia and Hyundai, but in the case of features it seems to be none the less.

Features such as Remote parking, OTA updates, app integration, digital keys and surround view cameras make it more attractive to tech-savvy buyers. Comprehensive ADAS features are also available for safety, which is a big deal in this segment.

India launch

You will know that entry-level EV segment in India is growing rapidly. Cars such as Tata Nexon EV, Punch EV and Citroen eC3 are already present in the market. In such a situation Kia EV2 can become a strong option for Indian buyers.

However, no official announcement has been made on behalf of Kia yet to India launch. The EV2 is currently positioned as a Europe-centric model. If it is introduced in India in the future, then competition can be quite interesting.
