Prime Minister Modi joins Somnath Swabhiman Parv, says it embodies pride, dignity and glory

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a three-day visit to Gujarat, where he participated in the Somnath Temple Swabhiman Parv (Self-Respect Festival). PM Modi attended and addressed a procession of 108 horses, a symbolic display of valor and sacrifice.

This event is held in memory of the brave warriors who sacrificed their lives to protect the Somnath Temple. During the event, PM Modi made several significant statements. He said that he considers it a great honor to have had the opportunity to actively participate in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv as the chairman of the Somnath Temple Trust.

He said that millions of people from all corners of the country have joined them today. He extended his greetings to all of them with “Jai Somnath.” He described the time, atmosphere, and festival as extraordinary. He said that the presence of Lord Shiva, the waves of the sea, the rays of the sun, the resonance of the mantras, the surge of faith, and the presence of devotees of Lord Somnath in this divine atmosphere are making this occasion even more special.

Regarding the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, PM Modi said that the event embodies pride, glory, and a sense of dignity. It carries a legacy of grandeur, a feeling of spirituality, joy, intimacy, and the blessings of Lord Shiva.

PM Modi said, “72 hours of continuous chanting of ‘Omkar,’ 72 hours of continuous recitation of mantras. I witnessed last night the display of the 1000-year history of Somnath by 1000 drones, in the presence of 1000 students from Vedic Gurukuls, and today, the procession of 108 horses to the temple, the wonderful presentation of mantras and hymns – everything mesmerizing.
