Prasidh Krishna bowled ‘Ball of the match’, clean bowled Mitch Hay
In the first ODI match between India and New Zealand played at Kotambi BCA Stadium in Vadodara, Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna caught everyone’s attention with his speed and accuracy. A moment came during the match, which not only thrilled the spectators present in the stadium, but also surprised the fans watching on TV. Prasidh Krishna gave a very important success to India by clean bowling Mitchell Hay on a dangerous swing ball.
Henry Nicholls and Devon Conway had put India under pressure by making a century partnership for the first wicket, but as soon as both of them were out, the Kiwi innings faltered. As the innings progressed, India desperately needed wickets in the middle overs to prevent New Zealand from reaching a big score. With this hope, captain Shubman Gill handed the ball to Prasidh Krishna in the 38th over and Krishna also proved his captain’s decision right by hitting Mitchell Hay for all four.
The third ball of the over, Prasidh Krishna bowled a quick and accurate delivery, which swung late inside after hitting the pitch. Mitchell Hay couldn’t read the movement at all. His feet remained stuck on the crease and even the bat could not come to the right place. The ball hit the middle stump straight and the bails flew into the air. This was a ball which would have been very difficult for any batsman to play. Hay stood at the crease for a few seconds, as if he could not believe how he had been out. Talking about the first innings, the Indian bowlers took wickets at regular intervals in the last overs, but thanks to the aggressive batting of Daryl Mitchell, New Zealand scored above 300 runs after playing the entire 50 overs. If we talk about Indian bowlers, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket in his name.
