Prime Minister Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: Jitendra Sharma gets relief from electricity bill

Raipur : The Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, run by the government with the aim of providing clean, affordable and sustainable energy to the common citizens, is now bringing positive changes at the grassroots level. Through this scheme, many houses in the district are being illuminated with solar energy and people are free from electricity expenses and are moving towards energy self-sufficiency. This scheme is not only providing economic relief to the citizens, but is also proving to be a strong step towards environmental protection and energy self-reliance.

In this sequence, Jitendra Sharma, resident of Shikshak Nagar of Mungeli city, has taken advantage of the scheme by installing rooftop solar system on the roof of his house. After the installation of the solar system, his house is being completely powered by solar energy, due to which the electricity consumption has reduced to almost zero. As a result, they no longer have to worry about monthly electricity bills. Sharma says that earlier every month electricity bill was a big expense, but after the installation of solar system, this problem has completely ended. He said that this scheme is not only providing economic relief but is also making people aware about the use of clean energy. He expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and the administration for this public welfare scheme.

It is noteworthy that under the scheme, consumers are being given attractive subsidy by the Central and State Government on installation of rooftop solar system after availing the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. On 01 kilowatt rooftop solar system, a total subsidy of Rs 30 thousand is being given from the center and Rs 15 thousand from the state, while a total subsidy of Rs 90 thousand is being given on 02 kilowatt and up to Rs 01 lakh 08 thousand on the capacity of 03 to 04 kilowatt. Along with this, the facility of bank finance in easy installments at low interest rate is also available, due to which this scheme has become more accessible for the middle class and common citizens.
