Today Bangladesh is showing its eye, once BCCI had given it test status

BCCI: If Bangladesh stands as a big power in the world of cricket today, then India has a big role behind it.

First test match of india and bangladesh

BCCI: If Bangladesh stands as a big power in the world of cricket today, then India has played a big role in it. But everyone is shocked to see the way Bangladesh Cricket Board has opened its front against India before the T20 World Cup 2026. This controversy, which started after Mustafizur Rahman was thrown out of IPL, has now reached ICC on the pretext of security concerns.

India itself had advocated

Bangladesh, which is eyeing the BCCI today, needs to remember that it did not get Test status easily in the year 2000. The then BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya was the one who advocated the most for Bangladesh in the International Cricket Council. It was India that helped him join the elite category of cricket by playing his first historic Test match with Bangladesh. But today the same Bangladesh is refusing to come to India.

What is the whole controversy?

The controversy started when BCB, citing security reasons and increasing political tension, had demanded from ICC to shift Bangladesh’s matches to be held in India to a neutral venue (like Sri Lanka or UAE). ICC clearly said that India is a safe host and changing the venue at the last minute is not possible.

Tamim Iqbal reminded ‘reality’

While the board is adamant, former captain Tamim Iqbal has shown a mirror to the BCB. He warned, “Don’t get carried away by the crowd. 90 to 95 percent of Bangladesh cricket’s funding comes from the ICC. The decision taken today out of emotions may prove costly for the next 10 years.”
