Sonbhadra/Uttar Pradesh-

The district administration has adopted a strict stance against the Common Service Center (CSC) operators who ignore transparency and standards in the name of government services in the district. Taking major action on the instructions of the District Administration and the Ministry of Information Technology of the Government of India, 110 public service centers of the district have been closed with immediate effect. CSC District Manager Abhay Kumar Gond confirmed this action and said that during the inspection, huge irregularities were found at many centres.

This action has been taken mainly at those centers where the mandatory CSC branding (authorized board) was not installed. The prescribed rate list of government services was not displayed. The District Manager has given clear instructions that now only those public service centers will be able to operate in the district which will work with transparency and as per government standards. He said, the centers where neither proper branding nor list of service charges was found, have been identified and closed. This campaign will continue in future also.

The administration says that the main objective of this strict step is to protect the common citizens from overcharging in the name of government services. By ensuring clear identification of authorized centres, people in rural and urban areas will be able to avail their services without any confusion. The department has issued a strict warning to all CSC operators that if any negligence is found in imposing mandatory branding or rate list in future, the license of the concerned center will be canceled without any prior notice. If you go to any public service center, then definitely see the government rate list posted there. If any operator demands an amount more than the prescribed fee or there is no authorized board at the centre, then complain about it to the District CSC Manager Office.
