poisoned to death

Activists allege that the sarpanches and gram panchayat secretaries of these villages together carried out this act. According to the complaint, they hired two people who killed the dogs by poisoning them. After this, the bodies of the dead dogs were thrown on the outskirts of the village, so that information about this incident could not be revealed.

Animal rights activists say that this is not only inhumane but also a clear violation of the law. They allege that if there was a problem regarding the number of stray dogs, it should have been solved humanely and legally, and not by killing them by poisoning them.

Police started investigation under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Shyamapet Police Station under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and other relevant laws. According to police officials, all the allegations are being investigated seriously. Police have said that during the investigation, it will be found out how the dogs were killed, who played a role in it and whether any representative of the local administration is directly involved. Strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty. After this incident, there is huge anger among animal lovers and social organizations and they are demanding strict punishment to the culprits.
