Indigenous fuel station opened in the sky, the whole world was stunned to see this technology of ISRO – ..

News India Live, Digital Desk: What will happen if your car runs out of petrol midway and there is no petrol pump there? Obviously, the car will remain standing there. The same thing has been happening in space till now. When satellites built at a cost of crores and billions of rupees are doing their work and their fuel runs out, they stop working and become ‘space junk’.

But our Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has now solved it. India is soon going to demonstrate the technology of refueling satellites in space.

What is this new technology?
In simple language, ISRO is preparing a mission named ‘SPADEX – Space Docking Experiment’. In this, two satellites will be connected to each other in space. One satellite will refuel the other. It is exactly like filling oil while flying from one airplane to another.

What will be the benefit of this?
The biggest problem so far was that despite all the parts of the satellite being perfect, it was considered useless only due to lack of fuel. With this new technology:

  1. Crores of rupees will be saved: The lifespan of the satellite will increase by several years, which will save the cost of sending new satellites again and again.
  2. Waste will be reduced: The crowd of satellites lying idle in space will reduce.
  3. Apna Space Station: This technology will prove to be the backbone for India which is planning to build its own ‘Indian Space Station’. No space station can succeed without docking and refueling.

How ahead of the world are we?
There are very few countries in the world that have mustered the courage to do refueling and servicing in space. ISRO scientists believe that we are very close to making this technology successful. This is not just like filling oil, but connecting two fast-moving objects in the depths of space is a huge scientific challenge, which ISRO is ready to overcome.

picture of the future
This success is like opening a ‘repair shop’ in space for India. In the future, if any of our satellites has any fault or its fuel is low, we will not need to abandon it. We’ll just send a ‘refueler’ and our satellite will be back to life.

This stubbornness and capability of ISRO shows that in the coming years, India will not only participate in the space race, but will also lead it.
