German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are in Gujarat. Both the leaders reached Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi and Friedrich Maertz arrive at Sabarmati Riverfront and inaugurate the International Kite Festival. Both the leaders are participating in bilateral programs at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Center in Gandhinagar. This is Friedrich Maerts’s first visit to India.
Friedrich Maerts’s visit to India is considered very special. There is going to be an important discussion between India and Germany regarding trade and industry. This meeting is considered very important for the world of business, defense and culture. Friedrich Maertz is also counted as a right-wing leader. He is the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany.

A submarine agreement worth $9.3 billion is being signed between India and Germany. India’s maritime power will increase with the help of Germany. Germany and India will jointly build submarines. This is considered very important strategically for both the countries. India is emphasizing on expanding its maritime power. This deal is considered important for Germany. India is dependent on Russia in defense matters. India is also getting a new partner in Europe.
