Yash’s film ‘Toxic’ in trouble, Karnataka Women’s Commission demands action from Censor Board regarding teaser
New Delhi : Kannada superstar Yash’s new film "toxic" The teaser was released recently, which fans were eagerly watching. The teaser was released on Yash’s 40th birthday, 8 January. But this teaser soon got embroiled in controversies. The women’s wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has filed a complaint with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission. They allege that the teaser contains obscene scenes, which are harmful for the social welfare of women and children.
Why was there controversy in the teaser?
Let us tell you that there is a short scene in the teaser in which Yash is seen in a car with a woman. This scene is presented in a dark and stylish manner, but some people called it objectification of women. The complaint also said that such scenes hurt the values of Kannada culture and can have a negative impact on children. Additionally, there was no age restriction or warning in the teaser.
The state should immediately withdraw or cancel the teaser.
AAP women’s wing has demanded from the Women’s Commission that the state government should immediately withdraw or cancel the teaser and remove it from social media. Apart from this, it was also said that strict laws should be made to stop such content in future.
Director Geetu Mohandas spoke about the film
The film’s director Geetu Mohandas said in her statement on Instagram that she is at ease, while people are considering women’s happiness, consent and other issues. Meanwhile, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised the teaser and said that Geetu Mohandas is a symbol of women empowerment.
Yash’s character in the film is like a gangster.
In the film, Yash’s character ‘Raya’ is shown like a gangster. Apart from this, the film also has actors like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasant. This film will be released on March 19, 2026 and will clash with Dhurandhar Part 2 at the box office.
