Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue: PM Modi said – India’s ‘Gen G’ is full of creativity, the government has full faith in its potential.

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that India’s ‘Gen G’ is full of creativity and energy and should not shy away from taking risks, as the government has full faith in their ability. Addressing the youth from across the country and abroad at the closing ceremony of the ‘Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue’, Prime Minister Modi said, “In a very short time, this dialogue has become such a big platform, where the youth have direct participation in deciding the direction of the country’s development.”

He said, “The word think tank is popular in many countries of the world. It is discussed and its impact is also great. The presentations I saw today and the way you have come here after tough competitions have made it a unique think tank in the world.” Prime Minister Modi said, ”The topics you have discussed, especially the presentation on serious ideas like women’s policy development and youth participation in democracy, are commendable. This shows what is the mood of Gen Z in India. India’s Genji is so full of creativity.

He said, “Whatever the field, doors of infinite possibilities are opening for you.” You go ahead with your suggestions, do not shy away from taking risks. The government is walking shoulder to shoulder with you. The reforms that we have initiated in the last decade have become Reform Express and youth power is at the center of it.” He said that Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary on January 12 is celebrated as ‘National Youth Day’ and his life is inspirational to live with the spirit of ‘Nation First’.

He said, “Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts are still an inspiration for every youth.” What is the aim of our life, how should we live our life with the spirit of nation first. In this direction, the life of Swami Vivakananda is inspiring for us. In his memory, we celebrate National Youth Day on January 12 every year and this day has also been chosen for the Vikas Bharat Youth Dialogue. He said that in the last decade, his government has created immense opportunities for the youth through ‘Startup’ and ‘Digital Revolution’ and is continuously working in this direction.

He said, “We have faith in the potential of the youth, that is why we chose a different path from the previous governments, due to which the startup revolution gained momentum.” Initiatives like Startup India, Digital India were taken. Sectors which earlier were run only by the government, were opened to young entrepreneurs. Prime Minister Modi said, “You have not seen the period before 2014, when the then government was criticized for not taking decisions at the right time.” The rules and regulations were such that the young man could not even think of doing anything new.

He said that ‘Startups’ started in the world 50 to 60 years ago, but in India before 2014, there was government interference in every sector and there were less than 500 registered ‘Startups’. He said, “His government also opened sectors like space and defense for private enterprise and today more than 300 startups are working in space, while more than 1000 startups are working in the defense sector.”

He said, “Earlier in our country, making or flying drones was trapped in the web of laws and it was seen only from the security point of view. We simplified the rules, made new rules, due to which the youth have got the opportunity to connect with drones. Prime Minister Modi said that ‘Digital India’ has brought a revolution in many fields like gaming, entertainment, film production.

Urging the youth to bring Indian mythological stories including Ramayana and Mahabharata into the world of gaming, he said, “Can we take our mythological stories including Ramayana and Mahabharata into gaming?” This is a very big market. Our Hanuman ji can run the entire gaming world. This will also promote our culture.

He said that while the workforce is decreasing across the world, his government’s effort is to make the youth of India ready for opportunities across the world, for which the skill sector is also being improved. Prime Minister Modi said that the youth will have to overcome the slavery mentality instilled by Lord Macaulay and learn from the world with the experience of pride in Indian goods.

He said, “We are saddened by the lack of pride in our capabilities, our heritage, our assets. Lord Macaulay’s aim was to create a generation which would be mentally enslaved. Due to this, Indians developed an inferiority complex towards their own goods and considered only foreigners as a guarantee of superiority. He said, “After ten years, Macaulay’s sin is completing 100 years, which we have ten years to wash away. I am confident that this generation will wash away that sin.”

He said that it is said in our scriptures that we should take welfare ideas from all directions and we have to learn from all over the world without undermining our heritage or suggestions. He said, ‘Swami Vivekananda’s life inspires us for this. He wanted to build a better India and the youth have to move forward with the same spirit.

He said that along with this, we also have to pay attention to fitness and to play and have fun. Prime Minister Modi urged to start ‘National Youth Dialogue’ at the state and later at the district level also. ‘Developed India Youth Leadership Dialogue’ is a national platform to prepare the youth of India for leadership.

More than 50 lakh youth from across the country participated in this dialogue organized at Bharat Mandapam from January 9 to 12 at various levels. Three thousand youth reached here after a three-level selection process including national digital quiz, essay writing and state level ‘vision presentation’.
