Filmmaker Karan Johar has praised the recently released film ‘Haq’ on Netflix and Yami Gautam’s acting in it. In his long post shared on social media, Johar described the film as exceptionally powerful and said that the experience shook him emotionally.
Karan Johar wrote that Shazia Bano’s story and her victory deeply affected him. He admitted that he became emotional while watching the film and by the end he had tears in his eyes. He also regretted that he missed the chance to see the film in theatres.
In his post, Johar wrote, “HAQ, Shazia Bano’s story and victory made me cry, I couldn’t say anything at the end and then clapped loudly for the film and regretted that I missed the opportunity to see this exceptionally empowering film in the cinema.”. Through this statement, he made it clear that the impact of the film was so deep that he could not express his reaction in words and was forced to applaud in the end.
Karan Johar used very emotional and appreciative words about Yami Gautam’s acting. He said that after a long time he has been so impressed by the acting of any artist. Johar wrote, “I don’t think any performance in years has made me so emotional… Her silence, her gaze, her last monologue and her style throughout the film, it’s a masterclass in acting and determination. Hats off to her!” He described Yami’s silence, depth of gaze, final monologue and her confident performance throughout the film as a masterclass in acting.
Karan Johar also praised the film’s director Suparn Verma and said that he presented the story with utmost restraint and sensitivity without any unnecessary drama. According to him, the director let the strengths of the characters speak for themselves, which deepened the impact of the film.
Apart from this, Johar termed Emraan Hashmi’s acting as the best performance of his career. He said that Imran’s role was so impressive that the audience was forced to respond strongly to his character, which contributed significantly to the success of the film.
Karan Johar also thanked Junglee Pictures, Vineet Jain, Amrita, Harman Baweja and Rishu Nath associated with the production of the film and called it a courageous and important film. At the end of his post, Johar wrote, “Yami, I am your fan for life!”, which clearly shows his appreciation. The film ‘Haq’ is currently streaming on Netflix India and is garnering praise from the audience as well as many big names in the film industry. Earlier, actress Alia Bhatt had also praised Yami Gautam’s acting.
