VHT 2025-26: The knockout round of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 has started from today. There was a clash between Mumbai and Karnataka in the first quarter final. Where Mumbai team looked strong, it won by 55 runs due to VJD method. In the second quarter final match, there was a competition between UP and Saurashtra. In this match affected by rain, Saurashtra team has won by 17 runs. With this, Saurashtra and Karnataka have entered the semi-finals.

Devdutt Padikkal broke Mumbai’s dream

Karnataka decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Mumbai team did not get a good start. Shams Mulani scored 86 runs while captain Siddhesh Lad scored 38 runs. Due to which Mumbai team could score only 254 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. Vidyadhar Patil took 3 wickets for Bengaluru, while Vidhwath Kavarappa and Abhilash Shetty took 2 wickets each.

Mumbai missed its star players in this match. While chasing the target, opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal played an unbeaten inning of 81 runs for Karnataka. Karun Nair also scored unbeaten 74 runs. After which the match stopped due to rain. In the end, due to VJD method, Karnataka won the match by 55 runs.

UP’s wonderful journey ends

Under the captaincy of Rinku Singh, it reached the quarter-finals by winning 7 consecutive matches. Where Saurashtra won the toss and decided to bowl first. UP team scored 310 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. Abhishek Goswami scored 88 runs while Sameer Rizvi also added 88 unbeaten runs. Rinku Singh scored only 13 runs today. Chetan Sakariya took 3 wickets for Saurashtra. Ankur Panwar and Prerak Mankad also took 2-2 wickets.

Captain Harvik Desai played an unbeaten inning of 100 runs for Saurashtra while chasing the target. Prerak Mankad also scored 67 runs. Chirag Jani also scored an important 40 runs. When Saurashtra team scored 238 runs after losing 3 wickets in 40.1 overs. At that time rain also affected this match. Due to which Saurashtra team won by 17 runs due to VJD method.
