Bengaluru: Thanks to the brilliant half-centuries of Sameer Rizvi (88 not out) and Abhishek Goswami (88), Uttar Pradesh set a target of 311 runs for Saurashtra to win in the second quarter-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2026 on Monday. Here today Saurashtra won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Uttar Pradesh, who came to bat, did not have a good start and lost two wickets at the score of 42. Aryan Juyal (0) and Rituraj Sharma (12) were made his victims by Chetan Sakariya. Priyam Garg scored 35 runs in 39 balls. Captain Rinku Singh was out after scoring 13 runs. In the 33rd over, Parswaraj Rana dismissed Abhishek Goswami who was moving towards a century.
Abhishek Goswami played an inning of 88 runs in 82 balls hitting 12 fours. Apart from this, Prashant Veer (30), Vipraj Nigam (13) and Zeeshan Ansari (20) were out after scoring runs. Uttar Pradesh scored a huge score of 310 runs for eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Sameer Rizvi played an unbeaten inning of 88 runs in 77 balls, hitting 10 fours and two sixes. Chetan Sakariya took three wickets for Saurashtra. Ankur Panwar and Prerak Mankad dismissed two batsmen each.
