CM Yogi’s strict message – If ministers and MLAs remain lazy in SIR, it will be difficult to get tickets

Lucknow, 12 January. In Uttar Pradesh, the names of about 2.89 crore voters removed from the draft voter list released by the Election Commission of India after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of the voter list has become a cause of concern for the state government.

Deletion of names of 2.89 crore voters is harmful for BJP

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believe that deleting the names of about 2.89 crore voters from the list of 15.44 crore voters in the state is harmful for the party. It is believed that deletion of names of so many voters will disturb the political equation of BJP in the urban areas of the state.

MinisterMLAs and MPs should go to the booth level and get involved in including the names of the missing people.

Perhaps this is the reason why Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a strict message to all the MPs, MLAs, ministers and party officials that now all the ministers, MLAs and party officials of the state should go to the booth level in their respective areas and get the names of the people left out in the voter list. After this instruction of CM Yogi, now the Minister, MLA and MP who shows laxity in getting the names of people added to the voter list in their area may face difficulty in getting tickets in the elections.

Party worried over deletion of names of large number of people in urban areas

If seen, this discussion in BJP headquarters is not without reason. The main reason for this is the deletion of names of a large number of people from the voter list in the urban areas of UP. According to party leaders, lakhs of names in big cities of the state like Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Noida, Hapur, Meerut, Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Balrampur have been removed from the voter list due to SIR.

9 to 41 in urban areasVotes reduced by % on seats with NDA MLAs

This change is not just limited to the administrative process but also has deep political significance as out of 106 seats in urban areas, 84 are held by BJP and two seats are held by its allies. Samajwadi Party is in control of 20 seats. In urban areas, votes have been reduced by 9 to 41 percent on seats with NDA MLAs. It is being told that 39 thousand to 4 lakh votes have been lost on the seats held by BJP after SIR, while 43 thousand to 1.82 lakh votes have been lost on the seats held by SP.

It is also being told that on an average, 97 thousand votes were lost in the assemblies of 13 ministers including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, while on an average, 62 thousand votes were lost in rural areas. There is concern in the BJP due to such a large number of names being deleted from the voter list in the areas under the party’s influence.

CM Yogi gave instructions only on the basis of data

It is being told that on the basis of these figures, CM Yogi has instructed all the MPs, MLAs and ministers of the party to go to the booth level in their respective areas and get the names of the people left out in the voter list. He has said that a campaign should be run to include the names of those who have been left out in the list.

CM had given instructions earlier also, the party did not pay attention then

Regarding ineligible voters, the Chief Minister asked his ministers to get the voter list of the districts under their charge and get it investigated assembly wise. No name of any eligible voter should be left out. Names should be added by filling the form and objections should be lodged against ineligible or duplicate names and they should be removed. CM Yogi had given such instructions earlier also, but the party people did not pay attention to it, due to which a large number of voters’ names were removed from the voter list.

Party leadership keeping a close eye on SIR process

In fact, the party leadership is keeping a close watch on the SIR process. Especially the activities of MPs, MLAs and ministers are being monitored. For this, feedback is being taken from party officials. It is also being ascertained whether he is properly engaged in the work of SIR or not. Whoever is found lax in this work may find it difficult to get a ticket in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. This signal has also been given to all the MPs and MLAs.
