Delhi: There is less than a month left for the start of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. In such a situation, Netherlands Cricket Board has announced its 15-member team for the tournament. This World Cup will be played in India and Sri Lanka. This will be Netherlands’ sixth consecutive T20 World Cup.
Scott Edwards got captaincy again
The captaincy of the Netherlands team has once again been handed over to wicketkeeper batsman Scott Edwards. He has taken command of the team before also. The team includes experienced players like Roelof van der Merwe and Max O’Dowd. With this the team looks balanced.
Indian origin opener Vikramjit Singh has not got a place in the team this time. Considering his performance in recent matches, the selectors decided to keep him out. However, his opening partner Max O’Dowd has been retained in the team. Bas de Leede and Roelof van der Merwe are also important parts of the team.
Netherlands will play in Group A
Netherlands had qualified for this World Cup in 2025 by winning the Europe Regional Final. The team has been placed in Group A. India, Pakistan, Namibia and USA are also included in this group. Netherlands will play its first match against Pakistan on 7 February in Colombo. After this, there will be a match against Namibia on 10th February, USA on 13th February and India on 18th February.
