Punjab government is giving subsidy of up to ₹ 80,000 on mushroom production units, Minister Mohinder Bhagat gave complete information.
Punjab News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is working rapidly to motivate farmers from traditional farming to horticulture and increase their income, thereby making horticulture more profitable and sustainable. Punjab Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat said the state government is providing subsidy of up to ₹80,000 to farmers for setting up small mushroom production units costing ₹2 lakh.

Sharing more information in this regard, Horticulture Minister Bhagat said that farmers can earn more profits by investing less in mushroom cultivation and it requires less land and less water. He said that a small mushroom unit can generally be set up in an area of about 200 square feet. A subsidy of up to 40 per cent on the cost of ₹2 lakh is being given for this project by the Horticulture Department of Punjab.
Giving information about the process of obtaining subsidy, the Horticulture Minister said that farmers interested in this work can contact their nearest District Horticulture Officer and get registered under the scheme. Farmers will have to submit Aadhar card, land related information, bank account details and photograph. The department also provides information related to technical assistance to the farmers.
