Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls created history, made a big record on Indian soil

The first match of the 3-match ODI series between India and New Zealand is going on at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. In the match, New Zealand team came to bat first after losing the toss. The opening pair of Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls gave a great start to the Kiwi team by making a partnership of 117 runs. Conway-Nicholls kept the Indian bowlers away from success for 21 overs and achieved a big feat.

The Conway-Nicholls pair set the record for the second highest opening partnership for New Zealand on Indian soil in One Day Internationals. Andrew Jones and John Wright had made a partnership of 140 runs in 1988. Conway and Nicholls may have missed breaking this record but ended a 27-year drought. In fact, for the first time since 1999, New Zealand’s opening batsmen made a century partnership in an ODI match against Team India in India.
