CM Devendra Fadnavis targets Uddhav-Raj Thackeray
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday (January 12) launched a scathing attack on Shiv Sena (Ubatha) chief Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray. He said that the BMC elections to be held on January 15 is not a fight for the survival of the Marathi people but for the Thackeray brothers. CM Fadnavis clearly said that Mumbai or Marathi identity is not in danger in this election, rather the future of those leaders who have now united is at stake.
Addressing the Mahayuti rally organized at Shivaji Park in the last round of municipal election campaign, Devendra Fadnavis said that Mumbai is an integral part of Maharashtra and no force can separate it. He also showed old videos of Uddhav and Raj Thackeray from the stage, in which both were seen giving statements against each other. Taking a dig at this, he said that today both the brothers have come together for selfishness.
Hitting back at Raj Thackeray’s statement that it was the “last election of Marathi people”, Fadnavis said that here the existence of the Thackeray brothers, not Marathi people, is at stake. He said that this battle is being fought to capture the country’s richest municipal corporation with a budget of Rs 74 thousand crore.
Fadnavis claimed that only Mahayuti will become the mayor of Mumbai and transparent governance will be given. He accused Mahavikas Aghadi that the same government had taken the decision to make Hindi compulsory and had stopped the Dharavi redevelopment project. Now this project is being taken forward by the state government and Adani Group together.
He said that Marathi is the only compulsory language in Maharashtra. Also announced the third airport after Navi Mumbai Airport and increase in capacity of Mumbai Airport. Fadnavis expressed confidence that Mahayuti will have a big victory in the BMC elections.
