India did not give visa to Pakistani origin cricketer Ali Khan for T20 World Cup.

New Delhi: An important controversy has emerged around the 2026 T20 World Cup. Fast bowler born in Pakistan and became part of America’s national team Ali Khan have alleged that they have not been granted visas to enter India. Due to this, his chances of playing in the preliminary matches of the tournament to be held in India are in jeopardy.

Ali Khan took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that his Indian visa has been rejected, however, he did not share any official reason behind it. Currently, 35-year-old Ali Khan is in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where the US team’s training camp is going on.

First match against India

The US team’s first T20 World Cup match will be held on February 7 in Mumbai. Wankhede Stadium is scheduled against India. Along with this, America has to play most of the group stage matches in India only. Therefore, not getting Ali Khan’s visa has become a big challenge for the team management.

Full schedule of group matches

The US team is included in Group A, in which apart from India, they also have to play matches against Netherlands and Namibia which will be held in India. While their match against Pakistan will be held in Colombo. If the visa issue is not resolved soon, Ali Khan may stay out of these matches.

Players with Pakistani roots and visa issues

Ali Khan is one of three players on the US team whose roots are in Pakistan. The other two players are Ehsaan Adil And Mohammad Mohsin. Before tournaments held in India, players of Pakistani origin or with documented ties there often face additional security checks, which prolongs the visa process.

ICC trying to resolve the case

International Cricket Council (ICC)ICC) has not issued any official statement on this issue, but it is assumed that it is quietly trying to solve this problem. ICC is confident that this problem can be resolved before the tournament.

Impact on team selection

If Ali Khan does not get the visa on time, America may need to make last-minute changes to the team. This is when teams will be determining their combinations, player roles and strategies, which can be a challenging situation for any team.
