Deaths continue amid violent protests in Iran, 2571 people have died so far

New Delhi, 14 January. The death toll in the crackdown against protesters in Iran has risen to 2,571. ‘Human Rights Activist News Agency’, an American human rights organization, released these figures on Wednesday.

The agency has been known to provide accurate information during violent incidents in recent years and verifies information through its supporters in Iran.

The organization said that among the dead, 2,403 were protesters and 147 were government workers. Those killed also included 12 children and nine civilians who were not involved in the demonstrations. In this sequence, more than 18,000 people have been detained.

Internet has also been closed for the last five days due to protests in Iran, making it difficult to accurately assess the situation. The Associated Press (AP) could not independently confirm the death toll. The Iranian government has also not provided information on the number of casualties. This number of people killed during the demonstration is much more than the number of people killed in demonstrations in Iran so far.
