Ministers and MLAs will get 2-2 government residences in Bihar, cabinet approved
Bihar News: Nitish government of Bihar has decided to give two government residences each to ministers and MLAs. This proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting. Now ministers will also get an additional residence for their area, for which they will have to pay a fixed amount.
15 houses identified
Apart from this, MLAs who are not ministers will also get two government residences. The Building Construction Department has identified 15 houses for this, the rent for which will have to be paid. According to sources, under this decision, ministers will be able to keep their MLA residence at the fixed rate of Rs 1700 per month.
This decision is immoral and unfair
RJD state president leader Manganilal Mandal has raised questions on this decision. He says why did the ministers need two residences? They allege that this decision is unethical and unfair. At the same time, senior journalist Ravi Upadhyay considers it an attempt to woo disgruntled leaders. This decision has been taken when politics is hot regarding Rabri Devi’s residence. RJD has described it as motivated by political hatred.
Politics likely to intensify
Controversy regarding government bungalows in Bihar is not a new thing. In the past too, there has been political turmoil on the issue of allotment of houses to ministers, MLAs and former ministers. Even after this new decision, politics is likely to intensify.
