Golden opportunity to see Taj Mahal! Entry will be free for 3 days, permission will also be given to see the real tombs of Shahjahan-Mumtaz
A very good news has emerged for those who want to see the Taj Mahal, which is included in the seven wonders of the world and is an example of love. The 371st Urs of Mughal Emperor Shahjahan is going to start from January 15, which will continue till January 17. On this special occasion, entry into Taj Mahal will be completely free for tourists. The most special thing is that only during this time of the year the common people get a chance to see the real tombs of Shahjahan and Mumtaz, which are located in the basement below the main mausoleum.
When and how will you get free entry?
According to the order issued by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), on the first two days of Urs i.e. January 15 and 16, tourists will be given free entry from 2 pm till sunset. At the same time, on the last day of Urs i.e. 17th January, entry will be free for the whole day from sunrise to sunset. Usually Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays, but this time after the Namaz on Friday, the doors will be opened for general tourists and pilgrims from 2 pm onwards. The special thing is that the additional ticket of Rs 200 for visiting the main mausoleum will also be waived off for these three days.
Ghusl ritual will begin
The Urs will begin with the Gusal ritual at 2 pm on Thursday. Under this ritual, sandalwood paste is applied on the graves of Shahjahan and Mumtaz. As soon as this ritual starts, the gates of Taj Mahal will be opened for tourists. Before this, tourists coming in the morning will have to enter by taking tickets like normal days.
A chance to see the secrets hidden in the basement
The tombs that we see on the main elevated platform of the Taj Mahal are mere replicas. The actual tombs of Emperor Shahjahan and Begum Mumtaz are located in the basement just below the Taj Mahal. This cellar remains closed to the general public throughout the year, but it is specially opened during these three days of Urs. Pilgrims and tourists coming from far and wide will be able to see these historical tombs.
This time the colorful sheet will break the record
This year too, a grand colorful sheet will be offered on the Taj Mahal by the Khuddam-e-Roza Committee. Committee Chairman Haji Tahiruddin Tahir said that this time the length of the sheet will be 80 meters more than last year. This year, preparations are being made to offer a total of 1720 meter long sheet, which will be the main center of attraction. During this time, echo of Qawwali will be heard in the entire Taj Mahal complex and the splendor of Urs will be visible.
