Trump’s big decision: America will not give visas to 75 countries including Russia-Iran
Washington: The US State Department has suspended all visa processing for 75 countries, including Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Nigeria, Thailand and Yemen. According to media reports, this ban from the department will come into effect from January 21 and will continue indefinitely until the department re-evaluates the visa processes.
The development comes just a day after the US announced the end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Somali migrants in the Minnesota region amid allegations of fraud. This decision of the US administration will affect the citizens of those 75 countries who are part of the visa process.
Earlier on Monday, the State Department had informed through social media that more than one lakh visas have been canceled since President Donald Trump took office almost a year ago. The department is now preparing to review these procedures under its policies.
